Looking to build a better relationship with food?
In a world full of hyper-palatable, high-calorie options, it’s harder than ever to form sustainable, healthy habits. This book offers simple, grounded principles to help you make mindful food choices—without obsession, guilt, or sacrificing the things you love.
Author Jon “Jags” Nee grew up using food as a coping mechanism, developing emotional eating patterns and chaotic habits. After trying almost every diet imaginable (keto, macro tracking, and other fads), a few basic guidelines stuck with him that ultimately led to these basic principles:
No Beef or Pork
No Dairy
No Liquid Calories
No Sauces
Don’t Eat Like a Child
While these may sound highly restrictive, this book is about learning to create flexibility around them so you can still enjoy dinners with friends and family or participate in spontaneous food adventures. These principles helped Jags lose 100 pounds; overcome eating disorders like bulimia, binge eating disorder, and orthorexia; and keep the weight off for over fifteen years.
Blending personal stories, practical science, and common-sense strategies, this book will help you understand what’s in your food, how it affects your body, and how to build a healthier, more grounded relationship with eating.
About the Author
Jonathan Nee—also known as Jon “Jags” Nee—is not a registered dietitian or a fitness influencer. He’s just someone who cares deeply about helping others through lived experience, creative work, and a lifelong curiosity about self-improvement.
Originally studying economics with dreams of applying math to game design, Jon eventually pivoted into photography, videography, and content creation. Today, he runs a small business serving the tabletop and gaming industry, crafting social media content as a freelance videographer and 3D artist.
Before all that, Jon was a sweaty Undead Rogue raiding Black Temple, Naxxramas, and Ulduar in World of Warcraft. These days, he games a lot less, trading late-night raids for early-morning lifts and a consistent fitness routine while juggling the chaos of content creation.
You can follow Jon on Instagram @jonjagsnee, where he posts whatever he’s currently obsessed with (it’s a bit of everything—fair warning).
He lives in Southern California and splits his time between the gym, his creative work, and the incredible friendships he’s built through motion graphics, gaming, and fitness. While his world stretches far beyond the gym, Jon believes that fitness and well-being are for everyone—and hopes to spark a little motivation to be just a bit better each day.

Working Together
“I came into my book project with 100% zero experience on the publishing side. Not only did she help me edit, but she provided a full service experience. You definitely get what you pay for. Robin is worth every penny and is the best investment I made for my book project.”
